Standardized testing and prediction for youth soccer

See the player they can become.

Game1 is the standardized test for youth soccer, run from a phone in one training session. For academies, clubs and families, it shows where every player stands for their stage of growth, what to work on next, and where they can go.

Built on research at Stanford and Cambridge.

What people say about Game1

  • There are many pathways to the collegiate and professional level. Game1 is a fantastic tool for any club that is serious about identifying high-potential players.

  • So many young players have been overlooked. Game1 is redefining that model. Success is no longer about fitting the system.

The product

Measure every player the same way. Predict the trajectory. Develop the player.

  • Measure.

A phone on a tripod captures the data. Speed, acceleration, agility, ball feel, game impact, mental strength and biological age, taken the same way at every club. No wearables, no hardware, no video tagging.

    For: whoever runs the test.

The Game1 app on the timing phone: Theo, bib 11, 30 m sprint, attempt 2 of 2, 4.75 seconds with a 10 m split of 1.98, crossing confirmed.
  • Predict.

A potential score and a ranking for every player, based on how earlier players actually developed. More accurate with every test day.

    For: club staff only.

How it works

Testing

3 ways to use Game1.

  1. Within the academy.

Monitor every player’s development over time. Track each trajectory against elite benchmarks, adjusted for biological age.

  2. Trialists and tryouts.

Put every trialist through the same standardized tests. Comparable data on day one, right next to your coaches’ assessment.

  3. Partner clubs and scouting.

Test at partner clubs and talent days, benchmark against your own academy, and spot who’s worth a closer look before anyone else does.

Why it is needed

The highest performer at 13 is often the one who grew first.

A biologically older player is often taller and often faster. But better performance today is not the same as higher potential, and not every late developer has more of it. That is why Game1 benchmarks every result against players at the same biological age: bio-age-adjusted performance benchmarking.

Growth-adjusted means compared with players who are as far along in their growth (their biological age), not only with players born the same year.

Who comes first?

Twenty invented players from one under‑13 test day. Select any player to follow them.

Sort the squad

Sorted by height and 30 m together, tallest and fastest first

Theo is 17th of 20 by size and speed. One of the smallest in the squad today: 142 cm, and 4.75 s over 30 m.

Theo: 17th by size and speed, 13th by actual age, 1st growth-adjusted.

Illustrative. Sample data, not real players. A sort shows how a squad reads, not what any player will become.

The test day

The Game1 Combine: Your own field, your own time, your schedule.

The test day, step by step
  • One team or more, from a single squad of 12+ players up to an academy-wide event
  • 90 minutes per team, about the length of a training session
  • Half a field, with standard equipment, cones, balls and two to four goalkeepers for the small-sided games
A test day at Bethesda SC.

Three ways in.

  • Clubs and academies.

See every age group on one scale, give each coach a plan for each player, and set a forecast beside the decisions your staff already make.

    Game1 for clubs
  • Families.

Your child’s club is bringing in Game1. See what happens on the day, what you get, and what happens to the data.

    Game1 for families
  • Partners.

Put the timing, the test software and the forecast inside your own product, under your own brand.
